A Bit of Everything ~

Belated eid mubarak lovies! and AH it's been so long!!!!! X.x
Hope you're all doing okay :3

For this post, imma show you the three outfits I wore on Eid <3 Tell me what you think and tweet me your outfits for eid! ;)

🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

DAY NUMERO: ONE!

I invited my in-laws and my husband's family for lunch on the first day of eid, and so in between cooking and making the house look neat, I barely had time to choose an outfit! So I went with this dress which I have featured in this post on eid long ago - I actually bought it a couple of years ago but barely wore.. and so I threw on this ensemble as I had to keep it modest:

Dress - Splash
White Shirt - Burberry (I just went for the first white shirt I could find!)
Hot pink chiffon scarf

Alhamdulillah, the lunch went good as planned :') and we had a great time..

🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

DAY NUMERO: TWO!

We spent this day with my family who came from Abu Dhabi to see us and my aunt. We all had lunch in a Syrian restaurant (hehe), we then visited my aunt's house, and finally we invited them over to celebrate my dad's birthday.. and this was my outfit for the day:

White skirt - a Syrian store that was named 'Elle'
Blue Shirt - Bursa Turkish store, Sharjah
Floral jacket - a replica of an apparently very expensive brand :$
Shoes - Shoe Mart

🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

DAY NUMERO: THREE!

The final day I spent with both my in-laws and my parents, as my in-laws visited my folks in Abu Dhabi.. It was an evening visit, so this is what I wore:

Black skirt - Marks and Spencer
Black twins - hand embroided from Lebanon
Scarf - handmade in Syria
Shoes - Milano

For that visit I wore an all black outfit which made me look thinner (yay!), and the shoes were so high I had to take a picture of them like this!

Overall, my eid was amazing, Alhamdulillah.. I spent it with all my family members, to whom I thank Allah for allowing us all to be together, safe, and happy..

🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

How did your eid go? Tell me all about it in the comments below <3

Until the next blogpost! Salam! <3

Ramadan has swiftly passed, and all the beautiful meanings and blessings it left in us will sure be missed; unless we ourselves try to maintain them as much as possible ;)
Anyways, EID MUBARAK beautiful people!! Hope you had a great first day of Eid with your family and friends - I sure did, alhamdulillah.. I spent my day with my cousins and aunty and uncle, as well as my in-laws, and this is what I wore throughout the day:

For the first outfit, I wore:
denim skirt - Splash/ Lee Cooper
Jacket and top - Stradivarius
Scarf

Next, accessories and make up for both outfits:
Watch - Fossil
Blush [Sweet Rose] - H&M
Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner - Maybelline
Brush - a random cheap store :P

As for the afternoon, when my in-laws came. I changed into:
Dress - Splash
Belt - Splash
Cardigan - G2000
and I matched it with a white scarf

Hope ya'll have a great Eid! Make sure you spend it with your loved ones and spoil your children as nothing brightens up Eid celebrations like their smiles and laughter ;) However, don't forget your brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering, so pray for them and give out any materialistic items you could give; such as money, medicines, clothes...etc.
Eid mubarak again, and until the next blogpost! Salam! x

Salam peeps! I'm back with another blogpost and today imma tell you guys about something I have been doing lately: decorating cakes and cookies!! I have actually taken a 'course' with my friend Dana where we decorated these yummy foods and it was so exciting! :3 As I 'learnt' the basics of decorating cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, I decided to share with you guys a few cake and cookie recipes along with their icing sugar, royal icing, and even sugar paste tips...

SO for this blogpost, imma share with you a cookie recipe and icing I have used, and share with you some pictures of what I have baked! :D

For the cookies, I used this video, which I found very simple and helpful:

One note though, is that I didn't have baking soda at home so I didn't add it to the dough, but still, it turned out to be fine and delicious :3

For the icing, I have two recipes, one for only drawing and marking the edges, and the other is for both drawing and filling in the drawn lines.

For the drawing icing, you need to add and mix by hand: one egg yolk, and two cups of sifted icing sugar added gradually (you can add more if you found the mixture to be soft and liquid-y :P), you can also add the color you like! It is important to note that this mixture dries rather quickly.

As for the filling icing, you will need: 4 tablespoons of icing sugar, 3 tablespoons of meringue powder, and 6 tablespoons of warm water (not hot, neither cold.. in between).
Sift the icing sugar and add the meringue powder then add the water.. Start by adding the water gradually for once it becomes loose, it's hard to thicken it back. Until here, you can use the mixture for drawing, so if you want a looser mixture to fill in the surface, add a little more water to the mixture!.. You can add the colors to any stage ^.^

Now that you've been given the recipes, it's time for you to show me what you've done! Tweet me pictures of your cookies and decorations to my account @AyaKholoki :D

As for me, this is what I have done with Dana, and alone:

These decorations were pretty basic as we were playing around, experimenting different design techniques and colors :3

Hope you like the recipes and my designs! Can't wait to see yours ;) Take care xx
Salam! x
